Heartland has been announced as a finalist in the Finder Innovation Awards 2022 for the Best Banking Innovation category.

This category seeks to find the most disruptive innovation in Australia’s banking industry over the past 12 months.

Heartland’s submission was based on the launch of its Well-Life Loans, an unsecured loan designed for people over 55, and its new e-signing platform, which provides faster processing times and quicker turnarounds – enabling customers obtaining independent legal advice to have their documents signed electronically.

Judges considered how innovative the product is and how successful it has been since launch when determining the scores.

Based on these two criteria, Finder’s panel of judges gave Heartland a combined score of 69 out of 100, putting it in second place for the category.

The judges all agreed Heartland’s new products were a welcome addition to the market, tailored well for their intended customer base.

“Heartland is providing an important service to a specific group of Australian customers and has worked hard to resolve the pain points that exist for them,” said Seven’s network finance editor Gemma Acton.

“Creating a loan product specifically for people over 55 is a great idea. It is a fast-growing segment of the population with unique needs,” said Finder’s lead money publisher Alanna Glenn.

“The current financial climate is difficult for a lot of seniors, and with the introduction of the e-signing platform programme, it makes it easier and quicker for seniors to access money,” said Finder’s money associate publisher Raj Lal.

The judges also noted the success metrics shared by Heartland that demonstrated the growth of the company and customer base over the past year.

The Finder Innovation Awards will be broadcast live from Finder’s Sydney office on Friday 21 October 2022 where the winners of each category will be announced.
