For the past four years, Heartland, as Heartland Finance, has been an Excellence Awardee in the AMA non-bank of the year category for its Heartland Reverse Mortgage. This is the first year that Heartland has been shortlisted in the Bank of the Year category, as Heartland Bank, since becoming an authorised deposit-taking institution and rebranding in May 2024.
Heartland Bank is focused on offering Australians specialist banking products that are the best or only of their kind. It offers competitive term deposits and flexible retirement finance options, as well as Livestock Finance through its StockCo business. It has maintained a market-leading position as the largest provider of reverse mortgages in Australia, with market share of 41% as at 30 September 2023.
Heartland offers a full featured reverse mortgage product with flexible credit terms and features such as redraw options, which are not always offered by other reverse mortgage providers or are offered with conditions and limits in place.
Heartland Bank is investing in digital innovation and is committed to continuous development and improvement in its products and digital applications. Its updated mobile app and online banking platform for reverse mortgages are great examples of this. These platforms allow customers to view their loan details and apply for a cash reverse or redraw online. In addition, its online broker portal provides brokers with the information and tools they need to support customers in applying for a reverse mortgage, including an online submission platform so brokers can track the status of their applications, reducing the administrative work of doing this over the phone and by email.
Reverse mortgages continue to be one of the most heavily regulated consumer finance products. The team at Heartland Bank is dedicated to supporting customers and brokers throughout the lifecycle of a reverse mortgage.
